The reservoir is now 4.7 metres below full. So, it's still low, but a lot better than its lowest this Summer which was around 8 metres down! It's probably now suitable for watersports again, or certainly when the islands are submerged again, possibly in the next couple of weeks. Please be mindful of those shallow areas though.

United Utilities and contractors were at the club in 6 vehicles when I took the photos! It looks like they're all set to dismantle the pontoon you can see in the photos. When the water was very low they installed the pontoon to support pipework to pump from the deepest part of the reservoir up into the valve tower to use water for supply.

On the Social Weekend of 15th July the reservoir was about 3.2m below full. Heavy rain since then, and especially on 23rd July, has seen the level rise to 1.24m below full on 27th July. A 2 metre rise in just 12 days is quite impressive and certainly not the mark of an average Summer! The flagstones on the left of the cobbled road are now nicely submerged and 'the island' is an island once again. It all bodes very well for the rest of the year! For a live view check the webcam anytime.

Here's how the reservoir looked on 27th July -
