The last sail of 2018 ....?

Saturday 29th December proved to be a bit of a wild session. Sadly, not in such a good way! The wind was North Westerly, Westerly and from a few other directions too. Force 6 much of the time ... and then Force 4 and a bit at other times. You get the picture; challenging. Mark Kay was on a 5.7m. For a change, even he didn't always make it look easy. Still, 4 Kays and 4 other members is more than we've had on the water for a while. That water is probably just 1.2 metres below full, so a great result for us to end the year on. And of course the conditions meant we had time for a chat!

Chris Peartree had been out with a 5.5m sail and then beat a retreat by the time I arrived at the bottom car park to take some photos from the dam. Next up was Dave Monks, who struggled bravely with a 5.0m. My weapon of choice later was a 4.5m. Cue photos of Dave .....

I to have cancelled this afternoon don't think I have stopped any one from sailing.

No improvement in wind speed this morning think I’ll give it a miss

paul n - 29/06/2020 - 18:26

Like John will probably cancel Tuesday afternoon slot if the wind doesn’t increase
